This figurine is from a class known as the Kusura type, of which it constitutes one variant.

The finely crafted figurine presented here – the thinness of the marble is testament to the skill of the carver – is a clear example of those from Kusura, possessing a body that is a bit narrower and the neck a bit thicker than the canonical examples of the type.
