The Caucasus mountain range, which stretches from the Black sea to the Caspian, was home to a number of ancient cultures and their art. These include the ancient kingdoms of Armenia, and Colchis, as well as the Scythian and Persian empires. As such, the label, “Caucasian”, covers a wide array of different styles and types of art in that region.
